Introducing Mindful Mondays: Achieving Goals and Cultivating Growth →
Mindful living is one of my key brand pillars. When I first started creating content- Beemorenatural back in 2016- I realized that I had to make mindset and lifestyle shifts in order to make a living from creative work. I had to be intentional with my time and planning. While my efforts haven’t always been successful, I’ve kept at it!
Working on the master plan….
I’ll be using these weekly blog posts as my public accountability and a way to track how I’m achieving my goals. Follow along with me each Monday to start your week off by being mindful of your plan and how it’s helping guide you in your purpose.
Each week will cover three sections: last week's goal check-in, upcoming week's goals, and the book of the week.
Last Week’s Goals
Meditate 5 minutes daily
Completed 3 out of 7 days
Read/listen for 45 min each day to finish Manifest Now by 4/9–
I did not complete the original goal because I decided to pivot to a different book on Tuesday. Instead of Manifest Now, I’m reading The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks
And I did listen to my audiobooks daily so we will consider the goal met!
Walk for 30 minutes daily
I am proud to say that I accomplished this goal and ended up getting to an average over over 9k daily steps! I’m grateful to live in an extremely walkable neighborhood and I have a big dog who needs exercise, so I’m making the most of it!
Drink one gallon of water every day
Complete fail, I have no excuse, I just have to work on filling up my water bottle (my bottle fits 24 oz so I have to fill it up 5 and a half times to hit my gallon goal!
Finalize blog content for the soft launch of Keisha Marie, Co.
This is iffy. I got my blog posts all planned for the month- well at least the titles, but I spent a lot of time out at the park with the kids this weekend and wasn’t on the computer as much to finish.
Gotta evaluate my days, especially with starting a new job tomorrow, to see how to block out time for content days at least once/a week or an hour or two/day.
New week goals
Meditate at least 5 minutes daily
Monday, Wednesday, Friday
I’ll be listening to this meditation
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday
Good Moms Bad Choices meditation with Trap Yoga Bae
I think the variety will help me stick to the goal and have something to look forward to each day! We’ll see next week and I’ll do a mid-week check-in on my stories!
Listen to 1 hour or 1 chapter of The Big Leap each day in order to finish by Sunday 4/16 or sooner
This one is pretty self-explanatory! I love this book and it makes me that much more excited to finish with a deadline. I think I’ll create a post about each book once I finish it and share it with ya’ll!
Once I finish, The Big Leap, I’m going to read for fun!
Issa Rae- Misadventures of an Awkward Black Girl or Sistah Souljah”s Life After Death for fun- 30 minutes daily in place of mindless scrolling
Walk at least 30 minutes daily
I have some good momentum going with this and plan to keep it going even with my new work schedule!
I’ll have to get up a little earlier to take Mocha out in the mornings before we leave and take her when I get home from work. I will also find spots to walk on my lunch break at work!
This also means I need to fasttrack getting a hands-free pump because I’ll probably have to pump on my lunch break at work
Drink 1 Gallon of Water Daily/NO RED BULL for 7 Days
The goal is to drink one full water bottle before work, four refills during the work day, and one at night!
Yellow Red Bull has been like my crack for years smh. So in addition to adding more water to my daily intake, I’m also eliminating Red Bull. Pray for me!!
Adhere to content plan for blog, IG and TikTok
This will be a little tricky because I’m starting a bit behind the ball already. But I’m confident in my strategy! I’ll see how much I can get done tonight (Sunday night) and use my time in the evenings to my advantage this week since the kids aren’t home!
Book of the Week
I started off with Manifest Now– Idil Ahmed however, I realized I really just want to focus on the Manifest Now chapter of the book, and that can wait. My main goal for this challenge is to build momentum and create good habits. I’ve opted to start with The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks instead. I’ll start off my challenge with a commitment to operating in my zone of genius. It all goes back to reading frequently and writing– hence my commitment to daily reading and building my brand with my blog first!
If you’ve read all of this, thank you! Be sure to comment on what goals you are working on and how we can hold each other accountable.
